life | a whirlwind.

Just a quick update on our life happenings.  The past month has FLOWN by!

It feels like just yesterday we got the official world that Dan’s job placed him in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  Both of us are born & raised New Englanders, so the idea of moving to the south was exciting–a totally new adventure for both of us!

[photo source][/caption]As soon as we got the news, I became swept up in job hunting, apartment hunting, packing, and making time to see friends & family in the month before leaving.  Before I knew it, I was in my car with my cat Baxter, driving for 20 hours down south with incessant meowing the entire time.

Dan flew down on Thursday, so now we are officially settled and ready to explore our new home!  Our new apartment is all settled in, and we have gotten to go out a few times.  So far, we really like Chattanooga.  People are friendly, there’s great food, and it seems like a neat community!

I’m currently job hunting and hoping to volunteer with a few organizations until I find a full-time job situation.  Job hunting has been a roller coaster of emotions.  I’ve heard so many NPR stories about people looking for jobs and having trouble, but I never really understood how those people feel until now.  I’m getting better at not taking it all too personally, but some days are harder than others.  At the end of the day, I just have to keep moving forward and trust that things will work out just the way they are supposed to!

I have lots to update y’all on (see? I’m soaking up southern culture already!), and I’m looking forward to documenting life in our new home!  Here’s to adventure!
