My friend Kathleen from college has hosted this Wiffleball Extravaganza for the past seven years–and this year was the first year I could actually attend!  I was excited to make the trip up to Massachusetts for wiffleball, food, and drinks.

Unfortunately, we weren’t able to make it up in time for wiffleball.  I know, total bumer, right?  There’s always next year….

But we DID manage to get there in time to enjoy some drinks & food.  I’m that jerk that was drinking wine at the party while everyone else was drinking beer. :)

Dan, being the classy dude he is, went for some brews.  Just look at how classy he is.  LOOK AT IT

I’m pretty sure I like Goose Island beer a lot.  That’s mostly just a note to myself so that I remember to buy some!

 

I finally got the chance to try their notorious “bacon burger dog.”  Yes, it is exactly what it sounds like.  A buger. Bacon.  & a hotdog.  On a bun.  It is crazy, and it is worth trying exactly once a year. :)

I’m actually a professional ugly face-maker.  True story.

Anyway.  We indulged in some hoodsie cups…which totally brought me back to my childhood.

 

Kathleen’s adorable nephew was there.  Check out his gorgeous curls.  So stinkin’ cute!!

…yes!  Yes!  It was the ice cream truck!  Didn’t we just have hoodsie cups?  Yes.  Do I care? No.

It was such a nice, relaxing afternoon/evening–just what we needed! :)  It’s always fun to reconnect with friends–especially when food is involved.  Next year, my goal is to make it up in time for wiffleball!
